The opportunity - What future are you building towards?
We are looking for Certified Public Accountants, or accredited equivalent CPAs, whom are trained in the most recent audit methodology, and are familiar with the standards set by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

Within the US Pool department, we focus on delivering high-quality audits specifically for US-listed companies with a substantial revenue presence in the Netherlands. These audits serve the public interest and promote confidence in the business community and capital markets. All of our colleagues have experience with US-listed companies, are often US citizens, or have worked there for a long time.
Responsibilities – How can you make a lasting impact in a rapidly changing world?
- Controller. In this role, you will examine financial information, processes, and summaries of various clients. You contribute to the preparation of management letters and audit reports.
- Advisor. Our clients derive energy from (new) insights to assess their strategies. They engage your expertise for this purpose. Internal tools assist you in making complex data understandable and providing reliable advice to the client. Your expertise and involvement form the basis of sound advice.
- Collaborator. You seize opportunities with both existing and new clients. By specializing in the core audit or financial services sector, you will be challenged to share industry-specific knowledge with clients and colleagues. You are well aware of current trends and developments and understand their commercial importance.
- Coach. The junior auditors in your team benefit from your expertise as they learn the most from your experience. Together, you are responsible for meeting deadlines and development objectives, as well as adjusting the plan and identifying issues.
Job requirements – Where do you start if you want to change the world?
- A licensed professional accounting designation (RA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an auditor within the Big 4, with at least 1.5 years of experience working onshore on PCAOB audit engagements
- You have a strong command of English, Dutch is a plus
- Experience with US financial reporting requirements (PCAOB)
- Experience with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards is preferred

Recruitment procedure – How can you prepare for a long life together?
After receiving and selecting your CV, we will arrange a brief 15-minute introduction via MS Teams. If your motivation and ambitions align with the job opening, we will schedule a first interview with the recruiter and a team member. If the outcome of the interview is positive, you will be invited to participate in an online assessment. The recruiter will then schedule a time to discuss the assessment results with you. Following that, a second and final interview will take place with a partner from the region.
Due to laws and regulations, and because EY (and in some cases its clients) has high demands on the reliability and integrity of its employees, every new employee will be screened. Depending on your rank the pre-employment screening could contain the following: Certificate of Conduct (in Dutch: VOG) or - if requesting a Dutch VOG is not possible - Criminal Background Check of the country you are currently living or have lived during the last five years, integrity questionnaire, verification of ID, diploma’s and/or work experience and consultation of the Dutch insolvency registry.
