We’re a global organisation with local presence, able to respond to our partners’ needs and strengthen them by offering more than financing. Oikocredit has more than 300 members of staff in around 20 countries with over 30 nationalities.

For our Communications team composed of six team members, we are looking for a Communications Intern ( 32-40 hours) to be based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

The start date will be in September 2023 or shortly after, for a period of 4 – 6 months.


Main responsibilities

  • Updating, maintaining and producing digital content for Oikocredit’s corporate website, social media channels and intranet
  • Planning and supporting the release of the quarterly financial results
  • Coordinating review and translation processes
  • Maintaining/managing the photo & video publication process, responsible for our multimedia database tool
  • Supporting the creation of corporate videos, corporate publications and digital newsletters
  • Researching and updating our media distribution list
  • Responding to ad-hoc marketing and communications requests from our offices around the world

What we are looking for

  • Students enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree programme in the Netherlands in the field of communications, marketing, or related
  • A strong interest in development finance
  • Some (work) experience in communications and/or marketing
  • Experience in content creation will be considered an asset
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, other languages (French, Spanish) will be considered an asset Excellent command of MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and self-organisation skills
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote environment

Additional information

You will receive an internship allowance amounting to € 330.00 gross per month on the basis of 40 hours per week (Dutch standard internship allowance). In case the number of hours is less, the allowance will be calculated pro rata. In case you do not have a public transport (OV) subscription, Oikocredit will reimburse travel expenses on the base of second class public transport.
